As we age or when we are afflicted with a chronic illness we can become less active. We often enter into a vicious cycle of de-conditioning,
increased muscle weakness, frequent fall, loss of bone density, inability to perform simple activities of daily life, and sometime depression.
Our energy, stamina, and confidence are failing, which leads to increasing frailty and disability. This causes us to become more dependent
on upon others and less able to care for ourselves.
REGAIN utilizes the expertise of Exercise Physiologists and Physical Therapists to work individually with clients with a desire to
regain physical capabilities. Goals are often centered on independence, increased functional levels and everyday activities of daily living.
Our therapists work with medical and orthopedic issues to assist clients with achieving these goals, no matter how debilitated or
de-conditioned they may be. Additionally, all care is coordinated with the client's personal physician. Monthly progress reports are
sent to each client's physician in order to ensure continuity of care.
No similar program exists anywhere in the region and certainly none that are comparable to our 12 years of experience and published
research in the field. Clinicians who are familiar with a client's history utilize exercise techniques that have been developed over
years of experience to: maximize gains rapidly, exercise safely, education and promote exercise as a lifestyle.
REGAIN is a progressive approach to aging and chronic disease and differs from the traditional pharmaceutical regimes
or standard treatments. Clients who participate in the REGAIN program are given the tools they need to actively participate
in their own care and rehabilitation.
